Short answers on local compression, batch limits, and format edges.
1. Are images uploaded?
Not for compression. The browser reads your files, encodes results, and builds a ZIP on the device. Visiting the site still creates ordinary page requests; hosting may see IP, user agent, time, and path. See the privacy policy.
2. How many files? Is there a 20-image or 5MB cap?
There is no TinyPNG-style free-web quota of about 20 images or ~5MB per file. The real ceiling is this device’s memory, pixel size, the browser, and other tabs. If the tab thrashes, split the batch.
3. Which formats?
JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WEBP. Convert HEIC/HEIF with Heiclocal first. GIF, RAW, and PDF are out of scope.
4. Does compression strip EXIF?
Canvas re-encodes usually drop original EXIF. If you want a dedicated metadata strip without treating the job as a recompress, use Metastrip. For watermarks, use Stampdrop.
5. Why did my PNG barely shrink?
PNG here is a canvas re-encode, not TinyPNG-style palette quantization. A max-edge limit usually saves more than the quality slider. The slider is more direct for JPEG/WEBP.
6. Do I need an account or payment?
No. No login, no subscription, no paywall.
7. Are ads live?
Slots are reserved and currently placeholders. Live AdSense is planned only after approval. We will not invent a publisher ID. Ads do not receive your local images.
8. Can I process NSFW content?
No. The terms forbid using this tool on pornographic or explicit material.
